Stepping Into The Unknown

When you come to the edge of all the light you have and must take a step into the darkness of the unknown, believe that one of two things will happen: either there will be something solid for you to stand on or you will be taught to fly.

March to July!

Ok I know I really need to be better about keeping up on our blog, sorry! I've just been busy getting ready for baby boy Johnson, due October 19 2011! So here's a quick recap:
I've always welcomed Spring before, but having a fidgety baby that loves to be outside made me appreciate it in a whole new way!

This is Kate's first time in the swing. After this she hated it for months, until the other day when Jeremy put her in again and she loved it! Now she hates it again. Go figure!

Kate still loves bath time even though we're constantly reminding her to sit down, at which point she sits down and says "good girl"! She can say the alphabet, identify most letters, and count to ten all by herself! But only if you say "Yay Kate!" afterwards.

Kate loves the pool but I think a lot of it is seeing all the "kids" swimming! These girls were just as excited as she was to see her in the lazy river - it was like she had a fan club!

This is us reading about doggies howling on a moonlit night.

Ha ha! This is the 4th of July! We went to a community thing where we ate hot dogs and listened to a bluegrass band. This is Kate sampling her first sour gummy worm! You can't tell but she loved it and kept asking for more!

Kate's Birthday!

Kate's Birthday!

We had Kate's birthday party the Friday before she turned 1 year old. It was really simple and relaxed, and we all had a great time! The highlight of the evening was Kate's first experience with cake. The video is better but I can't get it to post on my blog, too bad! Happy Birthday sweetheart!

Trip to Utah

We visited Utah in January. We had a great time! There is never enough time though to see all the people we would like to, and do all the things we'd like to. Personally I'm always sad to leave the restaurants of Utah behind...I miss fry sauce! *sniff*

One highlight of the trip was seeing old friends like Emilie. I'll never forget the fun times we had! She was right by the way, we never did end up taking that bike trip around the world. But at least we're still friends!

I made an ornament for Kate's first Christmas. I definitely didn't turn out as nice as I had hoped, but who knows? Maybe it will be one of those cool, it's-so-ugly-it's-touching things as the years pass!

My brother Kris came to visit for a couple of days after Christmas. It was the first time Kate and Uncle Kris had ever met! They were so cute together! By the way, Kris gave Kate possibly the best book ever: it has a little polar bear puppet that pops out of the pages and Kate's face lights up every time she sees it!

Christmas Eve Dinner

We made my parents' recipe for stuffing, and...well, that's pretty much the only thing I cared about for our Christmas meal. Yep, it's that good.

DECEMBER

I just had to get a picture of Kate biting the head of her donkey toy in her Ohio State jammies - way to intimidate the competition sweetie!
