Stepping Into The Unknown
When you come to the edge of all the light you have and must take a step into the darkness of the unknown, believe that one of two things will happen: either there will be something solid for you to stand on or you will be taught to fly.

SEPTEMBER
At Kate's appointment on September 8th she was in the 75th percentile for height and weight, as well as head circumference. September was all about discovering finger foods (hello Mum Mums!) and learning to sit on her own. She tried to eat things like cheerios but never could get them to her mouth so we shelved those for a while.
Our friends the Margetts came for a visit from Boston one evening. Adam and Ruth were like our "Ma and Pa" when we got married. Ruth taught me how to make casseroles and catch mice. Ahhh those Buckeye Village days. So fun while they lasted, and yet I'm so glad they're behind me! The Allens came by for a long-awaited visit too one Sunday (they live in WV now). I can't believe how much all these kids have grown!

ADDING A LITTLE VARIETY
Kate is 5 months old and starting solid foods! I got a little carried away the first week and wanted her to try bananas and sweet potatoes...Kate learned to shut her mouth when I approached with a spoon in hand! So the next week I went back to basics and stuck with rice cereal, thickening it just a little bit each day. Today she ate more than she ever has, maybe only a couple of tablespoons but I don't want to push it! I love to watch her get excited when the spoon gets close to her now!
She's also rolling over from her front to her back, both ways. She's starting to grab whatever is in reach, like when I got the mail in one hand and was holding her in my other arm. The mail-holding hand drifted within Kate's grabbing radius, and PRESTO! Soggy bills! :)

JULY
JUNE BUG
June flew by! This is Kate at 3 months. She is so fun! She loves to suck on the crib bumper when she's trying to sleep, hence the soggy splotch by her head!
This is a video of Kate after her bath. At 3 months she is still tolerating bath time, but she LOVES when we take her out of the tub and put her in a big towel!

When Kate Came
I was dilated to a 6 by the time I got to the hospital...the picture of me was between contractions! We were all pretty tired in these pics! I remember we kept saying "wow, what a quiet baby, I thought they cried all the time!" Nobody told us newborns do hardly anything but sleep at first...THEN comes the crying! Surprise!
Baby Shower
Some of my friends put together a shower for me, it was so nice! Everything had a hot pink/black/polkadot theme, very impressive!
In February my friends from work threw a baby shower for me. The picture on the left is a piece a toilet paper that runs all the way down to the floor. It's supposed to represent what one lady (we won't name names!) thought the girth of my pregnant belly was! Apparently black was...not that slimming. I keep that piece of precious TP to make me laugh...thanks girls!
Meet Kate!

Intro
Welcome to our blog! I'm starting this blog to update family and friends that we don't see very often. This task would be way too boring if it were still just Jeremy and me; luckily we have a new addition to our family: Kate Jody Johnson! Born 3/3/10, just shy of 9 lbs (8lbs 15.something ounces, it sounds tougher to just say 9 lbs though!) and 21 inches long, Kate has made our lives much more exciting!
